Jaya Ahsan is a Bangladesh actress. She is one of a most popular actress in her generation. Apart from Bangladesh her footfall in India Bangla movie helps her reach more. Her immense popularity in West Bengal allowed Bangladeshi artists to open the door of new opportunity in India. Apparently, she managed to run against her age and kept herself fit which is quite remarkable, especially from the perspective of South Asia. Jaya Ahsan is maintaining such a high standard within her years to work and keep building a new benchmark every day.
Personal Life of Jaya Ahsan:
Jaya born on July 1, 1972. Her original name was Jaya Maswood. A.S. Maswood and Rehana Maswood are her parents. Mr. A.S. Maswood was a freedom fighter. Since an early age, Jaya had a high interest in different branches of culture. Apart from her regular studies, Jaya has learned classical music and Rabindra Sangeet. She also learned drawing and dancing.

Her passion for music,pursue her to build a music school. Jaya Ahsan has a younger brother and sister. Jaya was married to Faisal Ahsan and took the surname of Faisal. In 2011, around 15 years’ relationship broke down.
Career:
Jaya Ahsan started her career at 1990’s. Since the beginning, Jaya had a vast level of interest in different things. The first time she came in front of the camera for the teledrama “Panchami”. Later she focused on modeling. Her passion and talent, eventually helped Jaya to come in touch with Afzal Hossain. Afzal offered her a role in an advertisement of Coca-Cola. It was a big break for her.
However, after that, she left modeling and focused on study again. Afterward, she worked in a newspaper “Bhorer Kagoj”, children’s school. Working in the newspaper, relinked her interest with media and as a result she came to the media world again.
Certainly Jaya made a massive appearance in numerous tv dramas. Despite the fact, since her return to the media world, Jaya had been so selected about her role. Her notable roles in Shongshoy, Anechy Shurjer Hashi, Shonkhobash, Hatkura, Choita Pagol, Angurlata Nondoke Bhalobashe, Sixty Nine, Tevaga, Amader Choto Nodi, Shahortolir Alo and etc. Instead of focusing on a specific type of character, Jaya actually tried to act in various types of characters. It allowed her to break her characters and go deep of it. Her success also led by the people she worked with also. She worked with Giashuddin Selim, Mostafa Farooki, Toukir Ahmed and many popular directors.
Jaya Ahsan’s big screen career:
Jaya debuted in film with the movie “Bachelor (2004)”, a movie of Mostafa Sarwar Farooki (director). This movie created a buzz in the market. However, Jaya did not have a central role in the movie. After this movie, Jaya focused again on television drama. Again, she returned in big screen with the movie Dubshatar (2010), directed by Nurul Alam Atik and found the center role after all. Despite the fall in the market of the movie, Jaya was able to show her acting flair and praised by movie critics.
Though, the first big break came from the movie known as “Guerrilla”. It was a big budget movie from Nasiruddin Yousuff, with a plot of the Bangladesh Liberation War adapted from the novel “Nishiddho Loban” by Syed Shamsul Huq. This movie was a big hit and allow her to get the National Award. Later, her presence in the movie Chorabali (2012), directed by Redoan Rony also helped her to beg another National Film Award.
Furthermore, the success of Guerrilla influenced Jaya to focus more on the movie. She also involved herself with a commercial movie with Sakib. The movie was “Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini”. The movie was hit and led to bring a sequel of it later.
Again she also crossed the border and started to work in Calcutta movies. Her first work in India was “Aborto”, Arindam Sil directed this movie. She continued to work in Indian movies. Some of her notable movies in there are - Ekti Bangali Bhooter Goppo, Rajkahini, Egoler Chokh. Bishorjon.
However, her biggest hit was “Debi” released on 2018. It was produced by herself and directed by “Anam Biswas”. The movie was based on popular Bengali novelist “Humayun Ahmed”. Chanchal Chowdhury is her co-actor in this movie.
