Biography: Bangladeshi Actor Shakib Khan

Shakib Khan, a Bangladeshi movie actor. After the death of Nayok Manna, Shakib became the unchallenged name in the Dhallywood for a while. In such a period, he was enough to make a movie hit. It took a while for him to create a space for him however he did it so well. Eventually, he made himself as the most paid actor in Dhallywood.

His popularity crossed the border to find himself in the movies of Kolkata as well. Shakib also involved himself with a movie producer. Shakib won numerous awards throughout his career. However, he faced some turmoil in personal life and yet continued to move forward with full force.

Personal Life of Shakib Khan:

The real name of Shakib Khan is “Masud Rana”. He born on March 28, 1979. He came from a respected family of Narayanganj. His parents were Abdur Rab and Nurjahan. They were Government officer and housewife respectively. He has one brother and sister. Shakib was a good student, however, he never managed to stay in one place due to his father’s job. Apart from education, Shakib had a vast interest in dancing. He managed to complete a dance course under the Aziz Reza, a film choreographer.

Shakib married a popular movie actress Apu Biswas in 2008, however, he kept it secret for career development. Despite the fact, Apu actually broke the news in the front press in 2017. Apu Biswas expressed story to press and asked for her place in Shakib’s life. Meanwhile, it was also found that this couple had a son named “Abraham Khan Joy”. On other hands, Shakib remained silent for a while. Later, he explained his position and stated that he would take his son but would not able to continue the relationship with Apu Biswas. Apu tried to keep to the relation alive but it did not work. This couple broke up officially in 2017.

Career of Shakib Khan:

Shakib was a student of science. He had a dream to be a doctor or engineer. He was very passionate about these professions. However, things changed a lot after his HSC exam (Higher Secondary Exam). In 1998, along with Aziz Reza, he went to BFDC for a photo shoot. There he caught the eye of “Abul Khair Bulbul” and eventually offered for a movie “Shobai to Shukhi Hote Chai” (Directed by Aftab Khan Tulu). After participating in this movie, internally Shakib Khan became so popular due to his lead actor alike body fitness, dancing capability, and his potentiality. In this regard, his first movie released “Ononto Bhalobasha” (1999), directed by Shohanur Rahman Shohan. Irin Zaman acted in the opposite of Shakib in this movie.

Afterward, his first movie, Shakib, a wave of contract for new movies were coming towards him. In this time, we worked with Shabnur, Purnima, Popi, Reaz, Manna and may other superstars as a co-actor. As a director, he found Ispahani Arif Zahan, Abu Syed Khan, Delowar Jahan Jhontu, Mohammad Hannan etc. Till 2005, it could be assumed that he did not select the role rather moved with every opportunity he got and create a space in the industry.

After 2006:

Since the beginning of 2006, Shakib started to work with a selective role rather random selection. He worked in a movie “Shuva” (based on a Small Story of Rabindranath Tagore) under the direction of Chashi Nazrul Islam. The performance of Shakib was highly praised by movie critics for this movie. He also received Lux-Channel I award for this movie. However, in 2007 he worked with Apu Biswas (Koti Takar Kabin), with whom he later partnered with numerous movies. He also had some personal issues with Apu later on.

After 2016:

Shakib continued his work with a top level of artists and a flow of awards was coming towards him. During that time Shakib was against Indian movie to enter in Bangladesh cinema halls, however, he later joined himself in the India-Bangladesh joint movie production. Things turned into messy for him in 2017 when he was boycotted by Bangladesh movie association. Though, it was solved later on.

Despite the fact, in 2018 he also found some propaganda against his movie. Shakib found some personal trouble in 2017 as well, however, he did deal with that very professionally. In 2017 Shakib became so expansive that some top-level directors found it trouble to hire him for the next movie.

Apart from movie acting, Shakib was the president of the Bangladesh Film Associations. He is also the brand ambassador of “Power” energy drink. Also, Shakib was involved in two discographies (Singing song) in two movies: Moner Jala (2011), Purno Dhoigho Prem Kahini (2013).
