About Jannatul Nayeem Avril
Jannatul Nayeem Avril is a Bangladeshi model and actress. Avril was introduced into the Bangladeshi media through a beauty contest. She won the contest but, due to some controversy, she failed to keep her crown. However, she managed to recover the situation and slowly started to involve in the industry to strengthen her position.
Personal Life
Jannatul Nayeem Avril was born on 4th September 1990. According to some sources, Amena was her nickname as well, later she changed it. Taher Mia and Reziya Begum were her parents. She came from a farmer family. She has two brothers and one sister. Avril is a fan of motorbike since her childhood. Her uncle showed off her biking skill and created a group of a fan on social media. Avril posed as a “Mafia Girl” on the digital media and intend to grow on like this. She became an example to the woman bikers in Bangladesh. She provided some misinformation regarding her past life on being a victim of Child Marriage which led her to strip off from the Miss Bangladesh title.
Career
Avril had a fan base before she came into the media industry because of her Mafia Girl presence on Social Media. She came under limelight when she won the Miss Bangladesh 2017 award. She beat 25000 contestants in order to win it. However, after the show, it was found she was married in 2013 but later divorced in just 4 months. Her husband was Rana, who was a cloth businessman. As per the rule of Miss Bangladesh 2017 competition, the contestant should be single, though Avril stripped of due to providing misleading information. As per the organizer of the event, they did not want to select some miss information provider to represent Bangladesh. So they gave Jessia Islam the crown of the winner.
After the issue, Avril accepted her mistake and apologized. She claimed that she was only 16 years old and she did not have the scope of protest. She was also criticized to provide wrong information about her family members. Some sources claimed her parents were not happy about her working in media. Despite of strong criticism and mockery Avril moved on. She became the brand ambassador of a few top brands. Avril also slow involves herself in different TV dramas. She is preparing herself to work in the movie.
Establishment of Avril Foundation:
Jannatul Nayeem Avril has an objective to work with child marriage and other social affairs. She introduced her own foundation “Avril Foundation” to work for society from October 2017. According to Avril, “ It’s not about just child marriage, we’ll also work on women empowerment throughout the country as well. I’ll donate 75 percent of my income to the foundation. I am also trying to collect funds from other sources as well. Women from all around the country will work as volunteers, who will lend their hands to the disadvantaged and oppressed women.” (Dhaka Tribune, 2017).
