Arifin Shuvo is a Bangladeshi media personality. He started his career through TV drama. Eventually, he becomes one of the top names of Bangladesh movie industry. Arifin is currently one of a top paid actor in the industry. Critics assume that he has the potentiality to be the best in the industry. Within this small span of a career, Shuvo has won numerous awards and it continues.

Personal Life:

Shuvo born in a very conservative family in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. His father was a government officer and mother was a housewife. Since his childhood, he and his brother were bounded by middle-class norms and regulation. However, his aim was big. He wanted to establish himself in the media world. So he left his home with only 257 TAKA in the pocket to pursue his dream. These were not even his money, he took it from his friends, Asif and Imtiaz.

Arifin married to Arpita Samaddar in 2015. Arpita is originally from Kolkata. Before their marriage, Arpita used to work as a fashion designer in Dhaka for more than 8 years.

Career:

Arifin Shuvo started his career in media as a ramp model in 2005. It was in a ramp show in BTV. However, during that time he did not have such required skill to do modeling, so he kept himself pushing towards the best. We also found Shuvo as a RJ in Radio Foorti. The show name was “Shuvor Show”. From there he created a fan base and especially he was popular among woman group. Meanwhile, he was also worked in some TV commercials as well.

Shuvo made debut in the small screen in the drama “Ha/Na” of Mostafa Sarwar Farooki in 2007. Since then he has been worked in more than 60 TV drama. He made a good partnership with Shihab Shahin. All works he did with Shihab, grabbed the attention of people. Also, his performance in “Serious Ekta Kotha Ache” drama helped him to create a space in the media industry.

Career as a “Movie Star”

Arifin’s start as a movie actor was not smooth. His first movie project was canceled. He faced different sarcasm from different sources however he did not stop. Finally, in 2010 he debuted in the movie “Jago-Dare to Dream”, directed by Khijir Hayat Khan. Despite his role was not a major character in the movie, he managed to show his charisma. After this movie, he took a break and returned to his regular TV drama acting.

After 2013

In 2013, he returned with a negative character in “Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini” movie. Shakib Khan and Jaya Ahsan were his co-actor in that movie. The movie was financially successful. It turned him around and allowed him to give full focus to the movie.

In 2014 he worked in the movie “Agni” as a boxer and professional killer character. As per the requirement of the movie he made some muscle in the body. The movie was a huge success and created a new era for an action movie in Bangladesh. In the same year, he gave another successful movie “Kistimat”. Arifin was able to establish himself as an action hero.

After 2015

During 2015, Arifin Shuvo again shakes the movie billboard with the movie “Chuye Dile Mon”. Zakia Bari Momo, Lux Channel I Superstar was his co-actor in this movie. Shihab Shahin directed this movie. Apart from the acting all the music albums of this movie were super hit. The TV right of this movie was sold for BDT 40 Lac. It was also highly praised by the outside the country as well. Another movie of Arifin released in 2015, “Warning”, however it could not manage to grab the attention. In 2016, three movies of Arifin released and all was successful. Movies were “Musafir, Ostitto, and Niyoti”.

However, the biggest breakthrough of Shuvo’s career came in 2017 with the movie “Dhaka Attack”. In terms of gross income, it was one of the top movies in Bangladesh movie industry and top of 2017. His character was a Police Offer in this movie. His acting was highly praised and increased his benchmark higher than any time.

In 2018, his movie “Valo Theko” did not ring any bell in the industry despite the story was good. He is now working in multiple movies including an India-Bangladesh joint production movie. Arifin chooses to very selective movies. It’s more like he is more into quality than quantity. He also involved in playback in the movie Agnee (2014).
