Royal Rumble is one of the major events of WWE. It is the starting point of WrestleMania countdown. To some Royal Rumble is the most exciting event of the year as this is the occasion where WWE Superstar returns and some new join. In 2016 Royal Rumble, AJ Styles join in the WWE roster and the rest is history. A royal rumble winner also gets a confirm spot in WrestleMania main event to challenge a world champion. Here are five potential superstars, who could return in this upcoming Royal Rumble.
Dolph Ziggler
Where is Dolph Ziggler? Is he left WWE? Did he join in Japan or in IMPACT? Did he quite wrestle? It’s been a month since Dolph relinquished his US title just 2 days after he won it. He claimed that he was never been appreciated neither by WWE Universe or by authority. It was quite unexpected move especially just after the day of being the champion of a major title. There was a speculation that his contract period has been expired but still he is on the WWE.COM site a member of SMACKDOWN LIVE member. So we can assume that Dolph is not over with WWE yet and probably a big return is waiting for him in this Royal Rumble.

Neville
Fan favorite Neville left WWE ring in an unusual way. He did not like to drop the Cruiserweight title to Anzo. He left WWE site while the show was running. Of course, Vince did not like it. Last time Neville has been seen around 3 months ago. Since then not a single declaration has been come out from either party. There is a rumor that Neville refused to perform for WWE again and it is well known that Vince does not like this kind of attitude.
Some reports claimed that the boss wished to run out Neville’s contract without allowing him in perform in the ring. Though Neville has shown some serious attitude still it’s hard to ignore such quality performer, especially when he has a loyal fan base. So WWE must give their best to make up his mind and what could be the better platform than Royal Rumble to make the return.

Batista
For last few year, WWE has been opened up to its old members like Chirs Jerico, Goldberg, Brock and some others. WWE has been offered them with part-time or semi part time offers. Batista wants to take this opportunity and likes to give another shot inside the ring of WWE. However, he wants the contract more like Jerico than Batista. “The Animal” has a successful run in Hollywood, especially as a part of “Guardians of the Galaxy” crew. Fans are hoping that WWE would give him another chance but everything is now on the table of Vince.

It’s been sometimes since John Cena is playing a freelancer role. John Cena might return again in this big event and start a new feud to lead towards WrestleMania.

Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio is always the small guy who created a big sign on the wall of WWE history. The 5’6” guy is now working in Lucha Underground and Independent Circuit. Rey made his last appearance in WWE ring in 2015, but still, he remains as one of iconic superstar of WWE. Since his left, WWE tried to fill his hole with Sin Cara and Kalisto but drastically failed. As Rey is being regularly performing outside the wall of WWE and seems a better fit than previously so WWE is trying to pick him up again to regain the LUCHA market. Therefore fans can hope to see him in Royal Rumble.
