Previous versions of Xiaomi phones used highly modified Android version. Usually Xiaomi phones have high specifications yet, not fully capitalized due to different platform related weakness. On the other hand, Anroid One, a program started by Google back in 2014 to expand their user base in developing countries. Anroid One is a standard created by Google to run on low-cost electronic devices with full Anroid facilities. First generation Android One phones launched in India and Bangladesh with Karbon, Micromax, Spice and Symphony phone. Later this operation expanded the geographical coverage but did not fly as Google’s expectation so this whole thing abated.
Around seven to eight months ago Google and Xiaomi decided to start a joint operation to launch Xiaomi A1 with Anroid One. This reboots the Anroid One program and also ensures to give a proper Stock Anroid flavor to Xiaomi users. Xiaomi A1 launched in September, 2017 and marketed profoundly under the banner, “Created by Xiaomi, Powered by Google”. This is not an entry level Anroid One version phone rather it is the first door of new era of Anroid One Development.

| Xiaomi A1 Review: |
Design: Xiaomi A1 has some stylish upgrade in design though maintains the same outlook as other Xiaomi phones. It provides a metallic feel to the users with a solid construction. The round edges and smooth back structure help to set in the palm properly and increase efficiency in usability. There is a dual camera at the back which softly protrudes in front and just a bit below the camera there is a fingerprint detector. The overall design of the phone looks neat and clean. Although Xiaomi continues to following iPhone design on this phone also still Xiaomi A1 upholds its unique design in some ways.
Display:
Xiaomi Mi A1 offers 5.5 inch LTPS IPS display, pixel density of 403 ppi. A 2.5D curved glass on the top of the phone will make a good combination for the users. Also, the full HD display provides users an excellent contrast and crunchy graphics. The brightness results of the phone is good for view under sunlight but there is a scope for improvement in there. The vivid display and sharp text of Mi A1 enhance the overall graphical look in a positive way. The color reproduction might improve but it’s not identifiable unless there is a side by side comparison.
Battery
Xiaomi Mi A1 comes with 3080 mAh battery capacity. Although they brought Redmi Note 4 with 4,000 mAh but kept the modest capacity with Mi A1. The batter performance is good but again not good enough than the average. The standby time of the Mi A1 is better than other Xiaomi phones indicates the optimizations due to the stock Anroid. It also uses the Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology and the bundled 2A charger helps to refill the batter device from none to full in about two hours.
Camera:
Xiaomi Mi A1 offers dual camera set up. One is 12 MP wide-angle 26mm f/2.2 lens and another one is 12 MP 50 mm f/2.6 telephoto lens. With a dual-tone LED flash. It brings a dual camera phone set up in mid-price smartphones but they are not the first one to do so though they are the first one to bring the 2X lossless optical zoom in this segment. In proper lighting condition, Xiaomi A1 takes some incredible shots but still has the weakness in low light images

Positive Sides of Xiaomi Mi A1:
- Great Design
- Stock Anroid for Xiaomi Users
- Budget phone with high modification
- Good overall performance
Negative Sides of Xiaomi Mi A1:
- Poor quality image in low light
- Unoriginal image
- Average battery life
- Very slippery
